Our commitment

Flomation is committed to reducing its environmental impact and has pledged to be Net Zero by 2040, including its supply chain.

Where our emissions come from

As a small software company with no manufacturing and no fleet, the bulk of our footprint sits in cloud compute, employee equipment, home-working energy and business travel. Supply chain emissions matter more to our total than anything we burn directly, which is why they are inside the commitment rather than outside it.

What we are doing about it

  • Choosing cloud regions and providers with lower carbon intensity, and sizing infrastructure to actual demand rather than peak guesswork.
  • Running a remote-first team, which removes daily commuting, and keeping business travel to what genuinely needs to happen in person.
  • Extending hardware life and refurbishing or recycling equipment at end of life rather than replacing on a fixed cycle.
  • Asking about emissions performance when we select suppliers, and reviewing it as those relationships continue.
  • Measuring annually and publishing the figures, so progress is checkable rather than asserted.

Reporting

We report our footprint annually and update this plan alongside it. Baseline emissions, the current footprint and the detail behind each reduction measure are in the full plan document.
